Atlanta native and Spelman College graduate Ashley Derby will open Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A Inc.’s first location in downtown Los Angeles.

Derby leaves her current post as the franchise owner of the University of Southern California Chick-fil-A restaurant to take the helm of the new location at 660 South Figueroa Street.

Fields is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death, according to CNN.

Atlanta Housing Authority Announces New Board Chair and Expands Senior Leadership Team to Meet Growing Demand for Services

The Atlanta Housing Authority Board of Commissioners elected Robert Rumley as its new chairman Wednesday following the resignation of Daniel Halpern, who served as board chair for nearly six years.

“I have big shoes to fill,” said Rumley after the board unanimously elected him chairman. “Daniel Halpern’s stellar leadership on this board and his commitment to expanding affordable housing have been invaluable to the city of Atlanta.”

Denise Cleveland-Leggett named HUD Southeast Regional Administrator

U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson today named Denise Cleveland-Leggett to serve as HUD’s Region IV Regional Administrator. As the Regional Administrator, she will work from HUD’s Atlanta Regional Office and lead HUD’s Southeast operation in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
