Following David Dao’s violent removal from a United Airlines plane, many people have rallied around the victim, expressing their outrage with airplane service. In a press conference, Dao’s lawyer Thomas Demetrio, insisted, “Dr. Dao, I believe to his great credit, has come to understand that he is the guy, the guy to stand up for all passengers going forward.”  Demetrio added that he’s even received an email that labeled Dr. Dao the “Asian version of Rosa Parks,” for not giving up his seat.

In July 2013, Raymond Parker was hoping to get a job with the NYPD as a police communications technician. After he applied, he received a “conditional” offer of employment. However, during a routine medical exam, Parker told officials that he was HIV-positive. The NYPD asked for more information on his CD4 count, which is a health measurement for people living with HIV. The lower the count, the higher the risk of illness.

A tragedy hit Shaniqua Stephens when she found her 13-year-old son dead in the bathroom on Monday.

David Dao’s Family Is Ready To Battle United Airlines

It seems like Dr. David Dao, the paying customer who got dragged off a United Airlines flight after refusing to give up his seat, is preparing for a battle. According to TMZ, Dao and his attorneys gave a news conference where they detailed Dao’s injuries and their next steps in regards to actions against United Airlines and/or the City of Chicago.

Another instance of police violence was caught on camera in Sacramento when an officer is recorded tackling and punching a guy to the ground. All of this happened because the victim, Nandi Cain Jr., was allegedly jaywalking. Naomi Montaie recorded the incident and could be heard screaming in horror throughout the video at the cop’s actions. The officer eventually cuffed Cain with more officers arriving on the scene, but not before nearly breaking Cain’s arm. You can watch the footage below. Warning, it’s graphic.

The viral video of David Dao being dragged off an overbooked United Airlines plane for not giving up his seat has enraged many. A Twitter-led boycott of United Airlines followed, especially when the CEO, Oscar Munoz,  issued a problematic statement. In Munoz’s words, the staff of the airline was thanked for “always going above and beyond” and for adhering to “established protocols.” The only reference to Dao’s horrible experience was Munoz apologizing for having to “re-accommodate a passenger.”

Sadly, comedian Charlie Murphy has reached the end of a fight with leukemia, reports TMZ. The elder brother of Eddie Murphy died Wednesday morning in an New York City hospital. Charlie had been undergoing chemotherapy to fight his illness and now he’s passed at age 57.
